When you step into the newly opened LookWell Salon in Chembur, you find yourself walking into an atmosphere of understated luxury. The space embodies a philosophy that its founder Sunita Pawar has carefully nurtured: design and beauty must move in harmony, creating an indulgent yet effortless experience for every client.

Opened in August 2025, this flagship salon marks a significant milestone in LookWell’s journey, representing both continuity and evolution of its design ethos. The core design vision for LookWell Chembur was clear from the start: create a space where beauty and design speak the same language. Mukul Pawar, Managing Director, LookWell Salons, and his design collaborators envisioned the salon as a modern sanctuary, an escape from the bustle of city life. The interiors had to feel luminous, refined and timeless, yet radiate warmth and comfort.

“Our goal was never just to build a beautiful salon,” Pawar shares. “We wanted every client to feel indulged, not just serviced.” The design flow ensures that this philosophy is reflected in every aspect of the interior.

BALANCING FORM AND FUNCTION

At LookWell Chembur, aesthetics never compromise functionality. Mirrors have been designed as sculptural elements yet remain practical for precision styling. Lighting, one of the most critical aspects of any salon, has been calibrated to flatter both interiors and skin tones. Seating is custom made, with a special focus on comfort, ensuring clients can relax through long sessions.

The result is a salon where beauty flows seamlessly into functionality, creating an environment where design never distracts from the services provided but rather enhances it.

DISTINCTIVE ELEMENTS

While the new salon carries the unmistakable LookWell DNA, it distinguishes itself with unique design elements. Gold accents sparkle subtly against soft neutral palettes, while fluid architectural lines create a sense of movement across the space. Each zone, be it the hair stations, treatment rooms or the nail bar, has been curated as a distinct area with a design thread flowing through them to maintain that connected experience.

“This isn’t just another outlet,” Pawar explains. “It’s an evolution of our design language.”

DESIGNING FOR EXPERIENCE

More than just interiors, the design narrative is anchored in customer experience. From the bright, inviting entryway to the cocooned intimacy of treatment rooms, every transition has been imagined through the eyes of the client. The nail bar, with its indulgent setting, becomes not just a service area but an escape in itself.

“Every corner of the salon had to whisper quiet luxury,” says Pawar. “We wanted clients to feel seen, cared for and enveloped in refinement at every step.”

OVERCOMING CHALLENGES

Creating a space of this scale came with challenges. The ambition was to craft a salon that felt both expansive and intimate, dramatic yet serene. Achieving this balance required multiple design iterations and close collaboration between teams. Yet, the outcome feels remarkably fluid and effortless precisely as the client should experience it.

For Pawar, interiors are more than aesthetics, they are the silent language of the brand. Before a stylist lifts a comb or a therapist begins a treatment, the space has already communicated refinement, trust and elevated standards.

“The interior design tells our story,” he reflects. “It sets the stage for everything we do and ensure the experience lingers long after the service ends.”

IDEAS TO CONSIDER

• Design for emotion, not just function. Ask yourself: what should a client feel when they walk in? Build around that.

• Light is everything. It shapes interiors and defines how clients see themselves.

• Details whisper louder than décor. True luxury lies in subtle, thoughtful touches.
