Hailey Bieber sells Rhode to e.l.f. Beauty for US$1bn
e.l.f. Beauty Inc. has acquired Hailey Bieber’s skincare and makeup brand, Rhode, in a deal valued at US$ 1 billion, its largest acquisition to date. The deal includes US$ 800 million in cash and stock, plus an additional US$ 200 million based on performance milestones. Hailey Bieber will remain involved as founder and strategic advisor, supporting the brand’s growth. With this acquisition, e.l.f. aims to expand its portfolio by adding a prestige, celebrity-led brand targeting Gen Z and millennials. Rhode will launch in Sephora stores across the US and Canada this fall, with plans for UK expansion.
Founded in 2022, Rhode gained rapid popularity through viral social media buzz and reported US$ 212 million in sales for the year ending March 31. The brand currently sells exclusively online and via pop-up stores.
Jenna Ortega is the new face of Dior Makeup
American actress Jenna Ortega has been named the new International Ambassador for Dior Makeup. Ortega announced the partnership on Instagram, expressing her honour in representing the brand. She also praised Dior’s focus on embracing natural beauty and crafting products that enhance personal expression.
As Dior Makeup’s ambassador, she will collaborate closely with Peter Philips, Dior’s Creative and Image Director for Makeup. The partnership will focus on redefining contemporary beauty by celebrating bold, authentic and personal expressions of style both on and off the red carpet.
