India’s Beauty Industry Eyes USD 42 Billion Milestone by FY31

India’s beauty and personal care (BPC) market is set to nearly double, growing from USD 23 billion in FY26 to USD 42 billion by FY31, according to an Aditya Birla Money research report titled “Beauty & Personal Care: More Brands, Fewer Winners.” Gen Z and Gen Alpha are expected to drive around 50 per cent of India’s beauty spending by FY31, up from roughly 32 per cent in FY24, as younger consumers increasingly discover products through search, social media, and creators. The report also projects India’s BPC shopper base will grow from around 140 million to nearly 200 million by FY30, signalling significant headroom for market expansion.

Akums Acquires Oriflame India’s Manufacturing Business for INR 56 Crore

Akums Drugs and Pharmaceuticals has agreed to acquire Oriflame India’s manufacturing business for INR 56 crore, marking its entry into colour cosmetics manufacturing. The deal, executed through Akums’ subsidiary Pure and Cure Healthcare, includes manufacturing facilities in Roorkee and Noida, along with a leased Noida warehouse, which produces skincare, hair care, wellness, and colour cosmetics products using European equipment and Halal-certified processes. The transaction excludes Oriflame India’s trademarks and sales operations, with completion expected by end-August. The move reflects growing CDMO diversification into beauty as Akums strengthens its supply chain capabilities for domestic and international brands.

Brillare Launches Rosemary & Redensyl Scalp Serum with Disclosed Concentrations

Brillare, an Ahmedabad-based natural hair care brand, has launched its Rosemary and Redensyl Scalp Serum, a leave-on daily treatment formulated with four actives at fully disclosed concentrations: 20 per cent rosemary, three per cent redensyl, five per cent multipeptides, and two per cent caffeine. The launch targets a dosage transparency gap in India’s hair serum market, where many products list active ingredients without disclosing their concentrations. Each 30ml bottle contains 97 per cent natural ingredients, including 52 per cent aloe vera, and is priced at INR 995. The serum is available on Brillare’s direct-to-consumer website, standalone or as part of its Complete and Ultimate Rosemary Hair Growth Kits.

Rupal Singh Chauhan Elevated to Head of Marketing – Biolage at L’Oréal India

L’Oréal India has promoted Rupal Singh Chauhan to Head of Marketing for Biolage, moving up from her previous role as Senior Marketing Manager for Kérastase at the company. Chauhan has been with L’Oréal India for over six years, working across aspirational launches and brand campaigns during her tenure. Prior to joining L’Oréal, she spent nearly two years at Diageo India as Team Lead in Sales and Marketing, and before that, close to three years at Vodafone Idea (formerly Idea Cellular Ltd.) as a Key Accounts Manager. The appointment marks another step in Chauhan’s growing marketing leadership career.

KT Professional Named Official Hair Expert Partner for Miss Universe India 2026

KT Professional served as the Official Hair Expert Partner for Miss Universe India 2026, with all 52 contestants using its 6X Keratin Gloss Shampoo & Conditioner throughout their three-month pageant journey. At the Jaipur finale, Dhruv Sayani, MD & CEO of KT Life, presented the award to Kaziah Liz Mejo from Kerala, while Tejaswini Shrivastava received the ‘Best Miss Headshot’ award. The brand also distributed over 300 curated hampers to contestants, judges, and VIP guests, generating organic visibility through contestants’ social media posts. LUSH, the British handmade cosmetics brand, has opened its first Mumbai store at Inorbit Mall, Malad, marking another milestone in its India expansion with partner Bilberry Brands India. The brand previously opened stores in Delhi, Chandigarh, and Gurgaon, alongside its presence on LUSH.in, Myntra, and Tata CLiQ. The Mumbai store offers LUSH’s signature range across bath, body, skincare, haircare, and fragrance, including its iconic Bath Bombs and solid shampoos. Vishal Anand, Founder & CEO of Bilberry Brands, called Mumbai “an important milestone” in building LUSH into one of India’s most loved beauty brands, with a long-term, experience-led growth strategy.
