Henkel plans to acquire Olaplex in a deal valued at USD 1.4 billion, strengthening its position in prestige and professional haircare. The transaction values Olaplex at USD 2.06 per share and has been approved by the company’s board of directors.
The acquisition adds Olaplex to Henkel’s existing portfolio, which includes brands such as Got2b and Purex, further expanding its presence in the global premium haircare market. The deal comes at a crucial time for Olaplex, which has faced rising competition, litigation-related reputation challenges, and weaker stock performance since its 2021 IPO. Under Henkel, the brand is expected to benefit from wider global distribution, stronger R&D support, better international market access, and greater long-term operational scale.
