PRECISION OVER PAMPERING: Testing the Godrej Professional Spa System for Seasonal Hair Recovery

As winter recedes and pollution levels rise, Priyanka Parshurami tried and tested Godrej Professional’s Spa System to address her dry, frizzy, and seasonally stressed hair.

BEFORE
AFTER

As the Mumbai winter fades and summer approaches, hair often bears the brunt of rising temperatures and poor air quality index (AQI) levels. Increased dryness, surface frizz, and texture imbalance are common during this transition. At such times, structured spa treatments become relevant in maintaining moisture levels and manageability.

With this in mind, I visited the Godrej Academy to experience the Godrej Professional Spa System. Upon arrival, I was greeted by Shailesh Moolya, National Technical Head, Godrej Professional, and assisted by his team: Avdhesh Yadav, Assistant Technical Manager, and Divyank Amrelia, Senior Technical Trainer. The session began with a consultation rather than immediate product application.

THE STRUCTURED SEQUENCE

The Spa System includes two ampoules: ‘Nourish & Repair’, formulated with apricot oil and a hydrolysed protein complex for dry and damaged hair, and ‘Smooth & Shine’, formulated with apricot oil, silk amino acids, and shea butter for normal, frizzy hair. My scalp and lengths were examined to assess dryness levels, frizz patterns, and prior chemical exposure before selecting the appropriate variant.

The treatment followed a structured sequence. A deep-cleansing shampoo prepared the hair by removing build-up. The spa cream and chosen ampoule were applied section by section to ensure even coverage. A controlled steam phase followed to support product penetration into the hair shaft. After processing, the hair was rinsed with cooler water to help close the cuticle, followed by serum application and styling.

TREATMENT VS INDULGENCE

Immediately after the service, my hair felt softer and smoother through the lengths. Frizz appeared reduced, and the surface felt more aligned. There was a visible sheen without heaviness. Detangling required less effort, and the ends felt less dry.

The massage and steam phase added a relaxation element, but the focus remained on treatment performance. The process emphasised cleansing, penetration, and sealing rather than surface conditioning alone.

THE VERDICT

This service is particularly relevant for hair exposed to dryness, colour treatments, heat styling, and environmental stress. Personalisation remains central, depending on scalp condition and fibre damage.

Overall, the experience functioned as a structured maintenance session. During seasonal transitions, periodic professional spa treatments may support texture balance and manageability when guided by proper diagnosis.
