Over and above magical transformations, visits to salons are quietly but surely becoming moments to pause, reset, and feel taken care of. As this shift becomes unavoidable, Florian Hurel Hair Couture Advanced Treatments, at Waterfield Road, Bandra, Mumbai, has been designed precisely with this intent. From the moment you enter, it’s a space that’s made to feel personal, welcoming, and luxurious all at once.

The vision behind the outlet’s design was simple yet profound: to move away from loud statements and rushed energies into something that feels like a retreat from the daily noise of life. Every detail encourages clients to slow down and simply relax.

DESIGNED TO FEEL GOOD

Before the outlet’s interiors came to life, the question that remained at the core of planning was, ‘How will this design actually feel to use every day?’ While visual appeal was important, functionality played an equally critical role. The architect behind the interiors of the salon, Rii, states, “The design had to look beautiful, but it also needed to work effortlessly for our clients and our team. When the space flows well, everything feels more relaxed, and that was the balance we focused on achieving.”

SOFTER, WARMER, INTIMATE

The salon’s interiors form the backbone to the ultimate client experience. The service doesn’t begin at the station but at the swing of the salon door. Guided by this idea, the Waterfield outlet was designed around how the client should feel. Rii had a clear focus in mind. “We wanted people to feel comfortable, unhurried, and cared for. From where one sits, to how private the experience feels, to the way the light falls, it’s all meant to help clients slow down and really enjoy the moment.”

The salon offers a surrounding that’s soft and holds intimate character. Rii elaborates, “There’s a warmth to it, through the colours, textures, and lighting, that makes it feel less like a salon and more like a space you’d want to spend time in. It has a quieter, more personal energy.”

However, the challenge lay in balancing personal space with openness. The idea was to keep the space airy while ensuring clients feel cocooned and comfortable. In came smart zoning, subtle separations, and soft lighting, allowing privacy without isolation.

WHEN SPACE BECOMES BRAND IDENTITY

Interiors play a powerful role in shaping how a salon brand is perceived, often before a word is spoken. At the Waterfield outlet, the space was designed to truly reflect the salon’s approach to beauty. It’s calm. It’s warm. It’s purposeful.
