Looks matter, but a salon must run smoothly on a busy day. “We planned the flow from reception to consultation, shampoo area, and service stations so that clients move naturally without crisscrossing,” says Karan. The mirrors are tall and bright but fitted with diffused lights to prevent glare. Storage is built into every station to keep the floor tidy, and there’s ample space for stylists to move comfortably even when the salon is full.

The design ideology behind this outlet is accessible luxury. Plush chairs in a rich green with gold bases, soft wall sconces, and a clean white-and-wood palette add just that. Says Sana, “We have also added large brand visuals near the reception to set an aspirational mood, while the retail cabinet by the window keeps products both visible and organised.”

Customer comfort drove every decision. “We ensured no direct light hits the eyes; only warm, layered illumination,” says Karan. The pedicure zone has privacy curtains so women can feel relaxed. The chairs are relaxing but supportive, and the walkway to the shampoo area is clear, so clients don’t feel watched or crowded. “The idea was to create a premium yet calming environment that helps guests truly unwind.”
TURNING CHALLENGES INTO OPPORTUNITIES
As with every new venture, the Joukanis experienced a few bumps along the way. Some material, particularly the glass, caused the biggest delay. Says Karan, “We also tested multiple layouts before finalising the flow. Weekly site sprints, quick vendor follow-ups, and mock walkthroughs helped us visualise how clients and stylists would move. That process allowed us to make on-the-spot improvements and maintain quality without losing time.”
