TRIED AND TESTED

WINTER-PROOF your skin

Charlene Flanagan tried the HydraFacial at Lakmé Salon, and came back with rejuvenated skin that felt hydrated, plump, and winter-ready.

BEFORE

The colder months can be rough on your skin. You’ll notice that the air saps moisture faster than you’d like, and even well-layered creams and serums may stop giving you the desired results. The fact is, winter skincare needs more than just surface-level routines. It needs hydration that stays in place, and support that helps the skin remain hydrated, calm, smooth, and comfortable. Targeted treatments not only cleanse gently but also deliver moisture to the deeper layers, giving your skin the care it deserves.

THE USP

The HydraFacial at Lakmé Salon stands out for one clear reason: it works for almost everyone. The treatment targets dry skin, dullness, early signs of ageing, makeup build-up, and even soothes sensitive skin. It offers quick hydration and a bright, fresh finish with no downtime.

THE PROCESS

The facial follows 10 structured steps. The first half focuses on cleansing, deep cleansing, exfoliation, and toning. This helps to clear surface build-up and prep the skin for the next phase. Next, the therapist introduces active ingredients through a hydrodermabrasion probe, supported by ultrasound or RF infusion for either skin brightening or anti-ageing. The treatment ends with a protective layer that keeps the skin calm and shielded for the rest of the day.

THE TOOLS

The machine used is medical-grade and combines controlled suction with active infusion. This balance helps clear impurities while pushing in serums at the same time. The machine works steadily, without tugging or irritation, which is why it suits many skin types. But several other tools add to the experience. A sonic peel offers gentle exfoliation without harsh friction. The cryo stick soothes the skin and reduces heat, leaving a cooling effect that feels instantly pleasant. These tools help the skin settle quickly during the treatment.

WHO SHOULD AVOID IT

Those with active acne, open wounds, who’ve had recent peels or lasers, those with very reactive skin, pregnant and breastfeeding women, those with serious medical conditions, or anyone on blood thinners, should avoid the HydraFacial. Those with metal implants should proceed with caution because RF is involved.

THE AFTERCARE

Aftercare is straightforward. Avoid sunlight, harsh cleansers, and strong actives for 12–24 hours, and skip steam and the sauna. It’s advised to drink plenty of water and ensure you stay hydrated. Using sunscreen every few hours helps maintain the glow and protect the skin barrier. One session of the HydraFacial a month is ideal, but those with concerns like pigmentation or acne may need sittings every 3 weeks.

THE VERDICT

Winter usually dries out my face within hours, but this facial changed that. My skin felt plump, smooth, and comfortable throughout the day, and the dryness around my mouth and cheeks had eased. Moreover, there was a visible brightness and the texture looked even. For anyone dealing with winter dryness, this treatment offers real comfort and quick results. Would I make this a regular feature in my routine? There’s no doubt about it!
