Elevating India’s Barbering Talent

The country’s premier barbering event, Modern Barber India Competition, is set to return, showcasing top talent, creativity and skill, with winners earning global recognition, exclusive rewards and the coveted trophy.

Professional Beauty India (PBI), in association with Modern Barber UK, successfully launched the Modern Barber India Competition at the PBI Mumbai 2024 Show, marking a significant milestone in the Indian barbering industry. Following its grand debut, the competition is now set to expand its reach in Delhi.

This premier barbering event aims to provide a dynamic platform for young and aspiring barbers to showcase their talent while adhering to the prestigious WorldSkills module.

The inaugural edition at Professional Beauty India Mumbai 2024 saw an overwhelming response, with over 100 participants competing across various categories, including cut and styling. The competition featured a prestigious jury panel comprising renowned Indian and international artists such as Asha Hariharan, JJ Savani, Jordan Tabakman, Monty Bhatia, Prathamesh Sawant, Sahil Jadhav, Seema Jerajani, and Unnati Singh.

The Delhi debut: Taking the challenge to new heights

After the successful launch in Mumbai, PBI is thrilled to introduce the Modern Barber India Competition in Delhi. The second edition is set to take place at Pragati Maidan on 30th June and 1st July 2025, bringing North India’s best barbering talent into the spotlight. This expansion reinforces the competition’s mission to nurture and celebrate exceptional barbering skills across the country.

Competition format and categories

The Modern Barber India Competition is an on-site event featuring six categories, with participation open to both men and women. The competition is divided into two profile groups:

• Under 21

• Open format (21 and above)

The categories include:

• Beard Styling - Short

• Beard Styling - Long

• Fade Cut

• Hair Tattoo

• Men’s Styling

• Trendy Haircuts (no clippers)

Prizes and recognition

Winners and runners-up in each category will receive:

• A glittering trophy

• A certificate of excellence

• Exclusive gift hampers

• A feature in Professional Beauty Hairdressers Journal magazine

• Chance to perform live on PBI’s Demo Stage

• A fully paid, hands-on workshop in Dubai, courtesy of Hairotic

Shortlisted participants will be notified at least 30 days before the competition. Finalists will be required to:

• Recreate their submitted look on the same model during the live competition.

• Be evaluated based on technique, creativity, speed, finishing and hygiene.

• Bring their own models and tools; chairs, mirrors, stations and capes will be provided.

The Modern Barber Competition 2025, presented by Hairoticmen in association with Gamma+ as Tool Partners, promises to be a landmark event in the Indian barbering industry. With its expansion to Delhi, the competition aims to continue fostering talent and elevating barbering standards in India. Participation details

To enter the competition, participants must:

• Upload a photo of their look in one of the above categories via the online form on www.professionalbeauty.inand submit the registration fee.

• Compete in only one category at a time.

• Be judged by an esteemed jury panel, whose decision will be final.
