Kanishka Ramchandani heads to Envi Salon to try a bespoke luxury hair treatment and steps out with rejuvenated tresses.

What’s the best way to spend a wintery day in the city of Mumbai? It has always been with a cup of hot chocolate and a good book for me. But on a breezy January afternoon, I decided to forego my routine and give my hair a much-needed pampering session instead. Tired of the short-lived effects of regular hair spas, I decided to try a bespoke luxury hair treatment by Kérastase at Envi Salon. My quest for the perfect treatment for my dry, weather-stricken, ‘don’t-have-time-forhairspa’ tresses was about to be fulfilled. Fingers crossed!

The latest door of Envi Salon is located in a swanky new colony in Malad West, Mumbai. The strategic location of the salon keeps it in the public eye, as it opens onto the main road, while remaining accessible to the residents of Auris Serenity colony. The salon is spread across two floors. The ground level has the hair stations and backwash area, while the first level has spaciously appointed skin rooms, mani-pedi stations and the Kérastase treatment room.

I received a warm welcome from the Envi Salon front desk staff as they ushered me in for a consultation with Master Stylist Hetvi Thanki. After examining my hair and asking me questions about my lifestyle, Thanki suggested the Kérastase VIP ritual. With that she took me to the Kérastase treatment room and settled me in for a long afternoon of pampering.

The first step was cleansing with a balancing shampoo, for which she chose the Kérastase Specifique Bain Divalent. To address my scalp concerns, such as oiliness and itchiness, she applied the Kérastase Symbiose Micro-Peeling Cellulaire. It helped scrub away the impurities and product build up in the gentlest of ways.

Next was a luxurious hair spa session with Masque Chroma Filler from the Chroma Absolm range, infused with K Fusio-Dose with lactic acid and the Concentre Nutritive with niacinamide. The comforting massage that followed was the highlight of this pampering session.

Thanki let me relax with a cup of coffee for 15 minutes before taking me for the final wash. As she towel-dried my hair, I could see the transformation. Dryness and frizz were completely gone, as if they never existed. After the blow dry, my tresses appeared voluminous, shiny and full of life. With a heartfelt thank-you and a promise to return, when I stepped out of the salon, it was already evening. As the sun set, leaving a beautiful twilight in its wake, I marvelled at the picture-perfect ending to this amazing day.
