Nars Cosmetics launches Colour Quest on Roblox

Nars Cosmetics launched its first ever virtual world, Colour Quest on Roblox, in partnership with the metaverse company, Supersocial. While customising avatars, virtual try-ons, collecting Nars products and connecting with others in the virtual realm of Colour Quest, the users can also explore a variety of tropical islands inspired by one of Nars’ top franchises, which are Blush, Laguna and Light Reflecting.

To unlock new abilities and advance through the game the customers can also interact with non-player characters (NPCs) who are dispersed throughout the virtual world, such as the brand’s founder, François Nars.

Given its global reach and highly engaged, scaled audience, Roblox was a perfect platform to host Nars Color Quest. Nars is also the latest beauty company to foray into the Roblox ecosystem, which has an estimated 54 million daily active users and Nars Color Quest will help introduce them to the endless possibilities of make-up.

The Beauty Shed wins at British Hair & Beauty Awards

The Beauty Shed, a Norfolk beauty salon in Hethersett, has won three British Hair & Beauty Awards in all categories that include gold, silver and bronze placements.

The Norfolk beauty salon secured a gold award in the East of England and the national award for Employee of the Year, the silver award in the East of England for Best Beauty Salon and the bronze award in the East of England for Best Customer Service.

Gonzalez, who is 35, has been in the industry for 14 years but has wanted to be a beauty therapist since she was a child. She opened Beauty Shed in 2012 and this year the salon is celebrating its 10th anniversary whilst collecting all the awards. The Employee of the Year award was given to Katie Meller, who was Gonzalez’s first hire and only 22 years of age and is already an award-winner.

The Queen of semi-permanent make -up

Karen Harvey-Coran has won overall winner for semipermanent make-up and gold for best brows, in the East of England at the Hair and Beauty Awards 2022.

Karen had taken on the premises in April and spent May renovating and then opened after the Platinum Jubilee weekend. It had been a dream of hers to have her own clinic with her name above the door and now she’s very amazed that it has actually come true.

Now she also has other people working for her and offering treatments such as Botox, fillers and facials. Often semi-permanent make-up artists would base themselves in a room within a salon, and it is rare to have a dedicated clinic, so they have been trying to do that and it shows the increase in popularity when it comes to semi-permanent make-up.

Karen is at the highest level of training, which is level four trained and that is the highest you can get and according to her, there are a lot of semi permanent make-up artists popping up, but not all are equally qualified.

An e-commerce retailer, Thrive Market, known for selling its organic and natural food products, has launched its first ever beauty products brand called f.a.e., which stands for ‘for all, everywhere’. It currently consists of 26 products, meant for all skin, body and hair types at competitive prices with the major brands.

With the launch of f.a.e., the Thrive Market’s foray into the beauty industry is an investment in their mission to make healthy living affordable and accessible to all. Some of f.a.e.’s products include Instant Refresh Face Wipes & Refill, Ultra Gentle Body Lotion Fragrance Free and Mineral Sunscreen Spray.

The top categories in the cosmetics department are skincare, haircare, makeup, perfumes, toiletries and oral cosmetics. E-grocer Misfits Market’s Odds & Ends was its first private label line which was launched in mid-April offering pantry staples including coffee and snack items. The e-grocer was attracted to securing its own, full-time private label because of higher margins as well as control over sourcing and product development.
