Pantone Colour of the Year 2022 ’oréal acquires skincare
For the Pantone Color of the Year 2022, the global authority has introduced a “dynamic periwinkle blue hue with a vivifying violet red undertone” called Very Peri, or PANTONE 17-3938. Stating in its press release about the new shade, while Pantone selected two colours for Color of the Year 2021, this year marks the first time in the Color of the Year history that the institute has created a new colour to represent the global landscape. But how does Pantone see Very Peri translating to the beauty industry? It predicts matte or glittery statements for the eyes, nails, and hair “suggestive of personal inventiveness and daring imagination”.
Wella Company celebrated its first year as an independent company
Wella Company recently celebrated its one-year anniversary as a standalone company. The company, founded in Germany in 1880, returned to independent operating status on December 1, 2020, led by global investment firm Kohlberg Kravis and Roberts (“KKR”) investing a majority-equity stake, which they have twice increased over the past year. The company emerged in the midst of the global COVID-19 pandemic, during which almost the entire professional salon industry – the company’s core customer base – was in lockdown. Despite this challenging global environment, the company set its growth strategy, focused on building the operating foundation for stand-alone success, and hired nearly 1,100 people across the globe, including a roster of top beauty, retail and Consumer Packaged Goods leaders on its executive team.
L’oréal acquires skincare brand Youth to the People
L’Oréal has announced the acquisition of LAased skincare company Youth to the People. eportedly, the financial details are not yet isclosed, with the buy-out is being subject to tandard regulatory approvals and other customary onditions. Youth to the People has built momentum sa popular skincare brand, which offers higherformance vegan skincare products. The ompany is expected to report US50 million of sales n 2021.
Global Wellness Economy et to reach £5.25 trillion y 2025
New research from the Global Wellness Institute (GWI), eleased at the 2021 Global Wellness Summit in Boston, SA, has revealed that despite growing to a record $4.9 rillion (£3.7 trillion) in 2019, the global wellness market fell to 4.4 trillion (£3.3 trillion) during the pandemic year. espite the drop in the market, GWI predicts the global ellness economy to grow by 10 per cent annually hrough to 2025, when it will stand at $7 trillion (£5.25 trillion) hanks to major shift in values for consumers, governments nd the medical world as wellness takes on an important ole during and post-pandemic.The UK ranked number ine in the top wellness tourism destination markets nd was responsible for $9 billion (£6.76 billion) worth of ndustry spending in 2020 despite seeing a 40.4% fall from 019-2020. European destinations such as France and witzerland made up nine of the top 20 destinations.
